Summer is coming soon, and hopefully the warmth will follow. I’m looking forward to getting out to some shows soon. It hasn’t even been one year since Dory and I had out first show together (Grayslake, June 2012!). It will be nice to head to Kalamazoo for a couple of days in a couple of weeks.

Things are quiet without Holmes, but he is very happy in his new home. His new home is with one of my fellow students at DePaul in my cohort. She works at Lurie Children’s Hospital currently, and is going to be starting Holmes in a therapy dog program that works with many organizations in Chicago. Most of the major hospitals work with specific agencies, so just having a TDI won’t get you in the door. Most importantly, Holmes’ new home does not have any other dogs, so he is happy to be “king”.

Dory has been sad without her babies, lining up her toys licking them clean. I think she is confused as to where they might have gone. She is starting to gain some weight, so that is good. She is eating 3-4 cups a day and is absolutely ravenous. When she came home I could nearly see through her! It’s amazing how much different she looks in just 1 week away from the puppies.

Next weekend I will fly to NM to pick my puppy from Dory’s litter and bring her back her for the time being. Josh and I are starting to think about names for her. I have no idea at this point anything about the 3 remaining girls, so no idea who I will be taking home. It will be a surprise!
